Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She's a frequent guest on CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. Before making the move to CNN, in June of 2015she worked for many local radio stations such as those in Atlanta as well as Nashville. The meteorologist has covered hurricanes, floods, wildfires as well as storms. In 2019, she was nominated to win the Emmy award for covering the hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. She also has covered in the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011. More than 350 tornadoes struck in the Southeastern United States in just four days. Over 200 on the 27th in a single day. Her work in the field of environmental science has enabled her to write stories on climate change and natural disasters, such as the eruption of volcanoes, earthquakes, and so on. Chinchar holds a bachelor's degree in Science in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. She's also a part of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
