Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is one of football scholarships, family involvement as well as community involvement. He is the youngest child of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Semon. They had him raised on the farm they owned in Eufala. In football, he played alongside three brothers for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the USA. During his three-year tenure as the Oklahoma's quarterback of choice, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and won two national titles. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout his time in college. After graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa which is where he played for nine years playing for the Buccaneers. Three times he was selected All-Pro. He began his business career. By 1988, he became an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the 10 most notable young men across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6-2. While he was in college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, he was a part of his current position at University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
